As a response to my own thread :P
Tryed and failed. When you salvage an item you get a fancy new selection screen which alows you to choose what to salvage. and inhert mods aren't there

I think this is for Elonian items (Nightfall) as mentioned in the update notes i.e. Inscriptions. Same for armour (Insignia)

In any case, this will NOT apply to weapons already existing.
MAYBE it will apply to any weapon dropped, after the update.
CERTAINLY it will apply to Nightfall items.
BTW, when I go to priest of Balthazar, it says I have already unlocked all Insignia there is... also inscriptions.
Dont forget, its now also possible to CHOOSE the mod that you want to try to salvage..

plain and simple. update sayd the whole inherent mod salvage feature will work ONLY with nighfall weapons. tyrian, canthan, and core (fow-uw-ha drops) are excluded.
means u can salvage a 15^50 from a tyrian/canthan/uw/fow/ha weapon nor u can apply a 15^50 over a tyrian/canthan/uw/fow/ha weapon, including crystallines, dwarven and serpent axe.
so. ppl bitched for months about this salvage feature scared to loose their precious weapons... for this little? noone looses a cent here
what's interesting to me is that if u have a 20/20 30hp weapon, u can salvage both the 20/20, the 30hp and still keep the clean weapon. tried it myself.

well prices WILL go down. if we'll be able to extract inherent mods from elona weapons, also old weapons prices will go down.
of course 15^50 canthan and tyrian will be much more rare then elona 15^50, but almost everyone will be able to get their elona 15^50 so old weapons will be less wanted

I was so excited at the possibility of having a +5 energy chaos axe. I'm just devastated. I haven't seen an Elonian axe skin that i've really liked so far. *sigh*
At least the rest of the updates were super cool.

Yeah, I just saw it... at the same overinflated prices we all know and love (to hate). I had a req8 skin waiting for an inscription - the affordable way. :P

Are you sure you just can't SALVAGE an enscription from an elonian weapon....
Surely you can still APPLY one to an old weapon....

I still dont see the point in limiting this to Elonian items only other than to keep the people complaining about prices dropping on their precious items from going ape crazy. Prices are going to drop now anyway, with future chapters more likely following this trend of inscribeable weapons. And that's a good thing.

Only the ones dropped in Elona.
And mods can be applied only to weapons found in Elona that has an "inscription slot". Guess we'll see what that means tomorrow...

I think you can only apply them to old weapons if the old weapons did not already have a damage mod.

I think the weapon also needs an inscription slot in order to accept a mod. Now I dont know if clean weapons automatically have a slot assigned to them or not. There's still a lot of unanswered questions about the system. We'll know soon though.

This makes me happy that I didn't decide to go the "WTB bad 15^50 weapons or Rare Skinned weapons without inherent mods (5k)" route.
Those guys just lost A LOT of gold.
